My grandfather is 76 and is still in high demand as a fishing guide to this day. He's probably actually out there today trolling for Muskie with some rich american tourist.
One of the funniest stories I've ever heard is how he had a very overweight customer one day who REALLY had to shit while they were far from shore. He handed him a bailing can(empty margarine container) to relieve himself in. The wind was strong and the waves were tossing the boat around so this guy is shitting and pissing all over the boat and himself while my grandfather is trying to steer the boat to shore and laughing his ass off.
I think this is hilarious but the story is soooo much better when he tells it. I love this city but I miss being close to my family.

Somehow my girlfriend actually had the first one and it's pretty funny! I think we left it at the family cottage in the outhouse.

I came across your blog while looking for Bobby Dokis a former chief who helped me get my first musky in the early sixties.....I'm headed for the French in August this year and I want to spend a day with him if it's still possible. I Love this picture of Pere, beacuse I've been in the boat behind him when he was pointing something out like in this picture. This picture just gave me a really good feeling to see that again.
