This one is specifically for my parents. There was a time when I used to tell them all about seeing Cardinals in Ottawa and how neat it was to see and hear them all the time. When they came up it was as if all Cardinals had disappeared and they teased me telling me that there were no cardinals in Ottawa. After that we ended up starting a tradition of giving each other Cardinal themed gifts for any occasion. It even went as far as me playing tricks on them by putting up fake cardinals in nearby trees and telling them to grab the binocs. When I first sent them a photo via email, they responded by saying "oh, I see you've been out of town lately". Since then they actually have seen some while visiting but the tradition goes on.

Hey Ron, is that taken out of a Robert Bateman book? I'm yet to get up close and personal with that dare bird.
