Just north of Badwater, we stopped in for a game of golf with the Devil himself. With no living thing around for miles you could hear the ice crystals forming. As I sat on a chunk of mud and salt, I watched the sun break over the Black Mountains on the east side of Death Valley. Slowly everything starts to brighten as the shadow of the Black Mountains retreat and are replaced as other shadows of more intricate detail begin to appear in the treacherous terrain.
Quite the experience!

It would hurt like mad if you fell while running here! Especially if the salt got into the cuts.
