Road Trip Entry No.6a:
Prickly Pear in the early morning. It was too early for the flowers to bloom. They close up at night and open back up everyday.

Their berries have quite a unique taste and I found that the flowers themselves were not too unpleasant. The ones in southern Alberta aren't that splendid looking or at least I haven't found any that nice, yet. I think it has something to do with the rabbits eatin'em all.
