What a wonderful photo of Uncle Bob! I always get such joy out of seeing photos of family since I only get to see them once a year. I haven't seen Uncle Bob in -forever-. I have got to find time somewhere to visit him and Auntie D this summer when we come up.

Bob will be truly missed. It will not be the same at Family gatherings. As another Bob(Hope) used to say "Thanks for the memories". The Hunting, Fishing and just plain old friendship.

I am sad that I will not hear another Muskie story.Any time spent with Bob was my favorite time.Being on the French, spending the day and part of the evening was the best.He always spoke fondly of his family. He had a great sense of humor that filled the many hours spent while fishing.I met Bob more than forty five years ago.He and my uncle were fishing buddies for all of those years.I had wanted to attend the memorial service today but I could not.The French River has lost much of it's appeal for me with Bob's passing. To all of his family,my thoughts are with you.

Bob didn't have time to teach me everything he knew about fishing and the french river, but most of what I know about fishing and the French River I learned from him. He even showed me how to tow that canoe and zoom through narrow channels in shallow water. Of course I've accumulated a few nicks on my propelers in the attempts. Bob will always be with me when I'm boating or fishing. When I'm trying a new and probably useless fishing lure, I'll hear him say "try it, you never know". When I'm portaging through the bush and getting tired, I'll hear him tell me "it's just a little ways". When I see a storm coming near he'll say "let's go to shore and wait under the canoe till it passes. You wan't a peach?"
Thanks Bob.

Sounds like he was a wonderful man, one I would have loved to meet. Sounds like he lived his life the way he wanted to too, which is the best way to do it. My condolences on your loss...
