So, how long of an exposure did it take for the planet to rotate enough to give the stars the illusion of traveling that far?

This was only about one minute. The better way to do this is to take about 20 photos then do some sort of crazy stacking and rotating procedure to line them all up. Pretty complicated but I'll try it soon.
We're spinning pretty fast on this crazy ball of rock.

Dude! I forgot to tell you that I have an attachment for our camera that goes to the big telescope. To hell with astrophotography. With this, we get astro video! Heh heh. But still, to get a good shot you need to do a bunch of stuff. Right now it's like having the most amazing zoom lens. I like this type of picture because you can see how differently coloured the stars are.
