I very much enjoy live music of all kinds. Not so much the kind of music you might hear on commercial radio, but more of the eclectic flavours. This is the kind of music that you might find on a radio station such as CKCU 93.1 FM or at a local dive bar such as the Dominion Tavern, Babylon, or Mavericks. I tend to choose dirty places with character over vanilla and pomp.
June 10th on a Saturday night we headed out to witness the Whiskey Daredevils perform at the Dominion but were blown away by the opening act, Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival. This band had an amazing drum kit and resilient drummer that prevailed through a constant assault by the Devil him self and the guitarist/front-man.
Unfortunately we missed a few songs from their set while having to chase down a stray dog and save him from the dangers of Montreal Road. This little guy had a lot of energy in him and he darted in and out of traffic several times. Corrie tracked him for a good 20 minutes when he finally gave up after being stuck in a bunch of Day Lilies. We took him home to dry him off and when the by-law officer came by to retrieve him he said, "I know this guy...this is the 12th time I've picked him up".
I don't know what his name was but that little dog must have had the Devil in him that night.
